Artificial grass cost starts with the rectangular cuts you need, then adds delivery and any separately quoted materials or fitting. The table below uses current catalogue prices and the same 4m × 5m cut for each range, so you can compare like for like.
Current supply prices, including VAT
| Range | Per m² incl. VAT | 4m × 5m cut | Cut + local delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Newport 30mm | £23.88 | £477.60 | £516.60 |
| Carisbrooke 40mm | £21.34 | £426.72 | £465.72 |
| Ventnor 50mm | £22.64 | £452.88 | £491.88 |
Each example supplies 20m². The delivery column uses the £39.00 local charge and applies only to an eligible postcode. Examples exclude accessories, ground preparation and installation.
Cut totals are calculated from the product’s pricing basis with VAT applied. Displayed per-m² prices are rounded to the nearest penny, so multiplying a displayed unit price can differ slightly from the actual cut total. Check the chosen dimensions and total on the product page and in your basket.
Why lawn area and purchased area can differ
A 3m × 5m lawn measures 15m². Covering it with one 4m × 5m cut means purchasing 20m², with 5m² outside the final rectangle before allowing for any extra trimming. Pricing only the finished lawn area would understate the grass required for that layout.
Curves, recesses and joins can also change the cut plan. Measure the widest and longest points, decide how the pile will face and include a suitable trimming allowance. Our roll-width guide compares layouts where a narrower roll saves material and others where a wider roll avoids a join.
Add the delivery charge for your postcode
Delivery is £39.00 including VAT across Greater London, Bedfordshire and the 10-mile surrounding belt. Outside this local area, standard mainland charges use the following postcode-distance bands.
| Tariff-distance band | Delivery |
|---|---|
| Up to 125 miles | £79.00 |
| Over 125 to 175 miles | £99.00 |
| Over 175 to 225 miles | £129.00 |
| Over 225 to 300 miles | £169.00 |
| Over 300 to 400 miles | £219.00 |
| Over 400 to 600 miles | £299.00 |
Tariff distance is the straight-line distance between verified postcodes from LU3 3PY, multiplied by 1.25; it is a pricing measure, not measured driving mileage. Use the postcode checker for your charge. Northern Ireland, islands, special arrangements and distances beyond the automatic bands need an office quotation. Customer collection is not available.
Keep supply and fitting budgets separate
Saygrass Direct’s grass prices are supply only. For a complete project budget, allow separately for removing the existing surface, waste disposal, base preparation, edging, joining materials, fixings and labour where needed. The quantities and work depend on the existing garden and the chosen installation method; these costs are not included in the table.
If someone is fitting the grass, ask for a written quotation showing what preparation, materials and disposal it includes. Agree installation terms and any workmanship cover separately. The named grass ranges’ UV warranty does not include an installation workmanship guarantee.
Check before committing to a cut
Compare pile heights and samples, finalise the measurements, then check your postcode and basket total. Sample box delivery is £4.99 and is arranged through the separate sample request. If your plan needs several cuts or uncertain accessories, contact us with a dimensioned sketch for help before ordering.
